Our friendly and highly trained staff are here to ensure your experience is as successful as possible. Some of the people you would deal with at Mitchelton Physiotherapy Sport and Rehabilitation Centre are:

Janine Whitlock-Soetens

Janine graduated in 1992 from the international Academy of Physiotherapy in Utrecht, The Netherlands, with a bachelor of physiotherapy. She migrated to Australia in 1993 and worked in private practice as a senior physiotherapist and manager for 3 years before taking over Mitchelton Physiotherapy in 1997. Janine’s area of special interest are sports injuries, especially in children and young adults, acupuncture, kinesio taping, lymphoedema and venous oedema.

Janine became a lymphoedema practitioner in 1996 and is registered on the NLPR (National lymphoedema Practitioner Register), is a member of the ALA (Australasian Lymphoedema Association) and the LAQ (lymphoedema association Queensland ). Janine is also a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

When Janine is not at work she loves watching sports especially soccer and tennis, enjoys going to the gym and many types of craft.

Robert Nicholls

Robert completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University. His areas of special interest include sports and occupational musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative and rehabilitation physiotherapy. He is also specifically interested in lower limb, shoulder back and neck injuries.

Robert is a very keen sportsman with strong interests in Rugby League, Rugby Union, soccer and cricket. Robert is originally from the UK and moved to Australia in 2006 with his parents and sister. He still enjoys following British sport and supporting Leeds United Football Club and Castleford Tigers Rugby League.

Robert is available for consultations each Tuesday afternoon.

Matthew Russell

Matthew is a passionate musculoskeletal physiotherapist who completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Central Queensland University.

Matthew has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, particularly those at the shoulder, lower back, neck and knee.

Matthew utilises hands-on treatment techniques such as manual therapy and massage therapy along with a targeted exercise program to help people overcome their injuries or ailments and achieve their goals.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him at the gym, at home reading a book or hanging out with friends.

Matthew is available for consultations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings.
